With such a high rate of ticket sales happening online these days, venues and costumers alike should be concerned with the high possibility of ticket fraud. The above link is to a helpful website that will verify the validity of your ticket purchasing site. It also provides a long list of sites that are red listed, sites that are highly rated, and new sites that have shown up recently. It has a section for reviews of ticket selling websites so that consumers can make an educated decision on where they purchase their tickets. Other recent pushes to stop ticket fraud were started by The Society of Ticket Agents & Retailers. They introduced a new marker to prove a websites validity so that consumers are easily able to check on the site they are using. While the idea here is a good one, this method is far too easily ripped off. It is very simple to copy the marker and place it onto your fraudulent website to misguide consumers. Overall, this is a very relevant problem, and is one that needs to be addressed fully and as quickly as possible.
