Promo video for a Theatre

Check out this promo video. The comments below make me want to go! The comments are, to me, more convincing than a write-up in a newspaper. IMO.

I tried viewing the video but it said it was no longer available. Can you provide the website?

My initial reaction is that you don't see many theaters producing videos of their facility. I think one of the fears that most arts administrators have is that if there is a video showcasing their theater than the potential patron has no reason to go and visit the theater. I think this is especially true for organizations like the Kennedy Center, The Globe Theatre, etc. Because they are not only performance venues but historical landmarks that people visit on a daily basis. If you have a video of the the facility than no one is going to pay the admission price to see it in person.

In addition, to online tours I was also thinking about podcasts of museum or theater tours. I was wondering if any arts organization have begun to produce audio podcasts that their patrons could download as part of a self guided tour. Organizations could continue to use volunteers to serve as tour guides but this might be more appealing to a younger audience. This might be hard to do at places like the Kennedy Center when certain theaters are in use and not open to the public but you could have volunteers outside each theater to monitor the patrons and answer any questions.
